What Customers Say About 6ft Toslink to Mini Toslink Cable:

I needed this to connect an Apple Airport Express, with AirTunes, to my home theater. The cable is long enough to run through my entertainment center and the quality of the sound is very good. The price was good and it was shipped very quickly.Happy with this purchase.

I was a little concerned because the price was pretty low, but the quality and performance are fine. The MACmini has optical through the save connector. I was using a standard stereo miniplug cable to get audio from my MacMini to my stereo. This was fine for music but I wanted 5.1 for my DVDs. The mini TOSlink is a no-brainer to plug in and provides great quality surround sound through my Yamaha receiver.

This cable did it's job as it was supposed to and can't get any better than that. It doesn't have any other special features like an easier way to unplug it but I have used it for a month with an airport express to a Logitech set of speakers and the sound that comes out is just amazing (although I am not an audiophile).

Quality degraded after the first week then it started to cut out, then pops in sound and cutting out and continuing down hill from there. You know they say you get what you pay for, in this case I would say it is no different. I replaced it with a Velocity brand cable and have been much happier.

I've since replaced it with a name brand cable that was 3x the cost, I guess we'll see if the next step up was worth it 18 months from now ;) This particular cable did not see a lot of daily wear and tear, in fact nearly none, yet it failed after about 6 months. I've learned for some cables that see a lot of daily wear and tear (think: USB charging cables), it's more cost effective to buy 2 or 3 that are cheaper than a name brand counterpart because they last nearly as long at a fraction of the cost. There's no in-between. If you buy the cheapest cable, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise when it dies on you sooner than you'd expect, but it still sucks. I used to buy very expensive name-brand cables, but have slowly been going cheaper and cheaper. I suppose the nice thing about digital cabling is that they either work or don't.
